“After the Colosseum, the leaning Tower of Pisa, the Grand Canal in Venice, the Como Lake and the Duomo of Milan, the UNESCO decided to proclaim another Italian artistic heritage, with her blond hair like “fettuccine”, her red lips like “tomato” and her breathtaking curves like the Alps: the Italian beauty Miss Sophie Champagne!!”

Miss Sophie Champagne was born the 16th of October – year unknown. She saw the light in a bucolic small village nested in a valley of the northern Italian Alps.

When she was about 16, she moved to Milan, where – while finishing school – she attended the evening classes of the Principessa Dancing School.

After tasting various kind of dance (started with classical and modern jazz, than musical and argentine tango, she specialize in vintage dance like swing, lindy hop and charleston) and acting, in 2009 she finds out the magnificent world of Burlesque.

After a year of intensive study of this genre, in June 2010 she started to perform burlesque in different Milan’s clubs, then around whole Italy and since January 2011 also abroad, specifically in London, where she is a regular guest star at the Cellar Door, renowned burlesque venue.

Together with her friend and co-worker Titì La Noire she founded the Noir Champagne burlesque duo. And they rarely have a free night: they’re booked everywhere in Northern Italy to organise burlesque events and evenings often combined to photography exhibitions, vernissages and concerts.

At the same time she decides to start the project of Champagne Academy of Burlesque Education, a school with lessons for girls who want to become performer and also for women who want to bring to light the “diva” hidden inside them. A school with true performer as teacher.

This project reachs a great success, and today the Champagne Academy of Burlesque Education is hosted in some of the most famous dancing school in Italy (Milano, Como) and Switzerland (Lugano), heads regular class weekly, full-immersion class, workshops in the whole Italy and private lessons.

In 2011 she has been a guest at the Dee Notte Burlesque (a DeeJay TV program) hosted by Nicola and Gianluca Vitiello, together with Eve La Plume, Attilio Reinhardt and other relevant figures of the Italian burlesque.

She is chosen by the international photographer Marco Girolami to be portraited, together with other renowned Italian burlesque performers, in the exhibition “Burlesque, l’ironica seduzione d’amore” , opened the 2nd of September 2011 at Musei Mazzucchelli (Brescia).

In 2012 she has represented Italy at one of the most important burlesque festival, the Boston Great Burlesque Exposition and in this occasion she attended the courses hosted by the Boston Academy of Burlesque Education, whose target are burlesquer performers and teachers.

In the same year, with the experience she gained, she decides to found the Champagne Production, agency for vintage show and events, that has already brought to stage many theatre show and dinner show.

In 2013 her photo is choosen for the central page of Pin Up America Magazine and she participate at some important festival, like the Great Burlesque Expo (for the second time) and the Kansas City Burlesque Festival.

In the same year she begins to pose for the American painter Lacey Lewis who depicts Miss Sophie in her paintings with the colorful and sumptuous costumes that caracterize her shows.

In 2014 she perform for the second time at Kansas City Burlesque Festival and at Windy City Burlesque Festival.

In this year she started her most important project:  Champagne Production presents the first edition of Como Lake Burlesque Festival, a great success, now at 9th edition.

In 2015 she brought the italian burlesque in Canada, she perform as guest star and headliner at Montreal Burlesque Festival.

In 2016 starts 2 new theater project: Scandalo al Moulin Rouge theatrical pièce with burlesque acts inserted in the plot and Burlesque Therapy a variety show with international artists.

To always be up to date she attends workshops lead by the most relevant characters of the international burlesque scene such as Angie Pontani, Jo Weldon, Kitten De Ville, Lou Lou D’Vill, Midnite Martini, Iva Handfull, Shangai Pearl, Gypsy Charms, Natsumi Scarlett, Scandal From Bohemia. Additionally, over the years while touring the world he has been fortunate to receive advice and insights from burlesque legends Tempest Storm, Tiffany Carter, April March, Toni Elling

 

Sparkling like her name, Sophie’s burlesque’s style is fun, lively, colourful and ironic but also graceful and sexy without lapsing into vulgarity or coarseness.

Miss Sophie Champagne has a various repertoire from classic burlesque (feathers’ fans, a big collection of corsets and amazing costumes designed and tailored for her) to new burlesque, exploring all the opportunities offered by this genre, but without going out of her character, a seductive and whimsical past-time diva!

From 2009 she represents Italy in many international festival: Great Burlesque Exposition of Boston 2012 and 2013, Kansas City Burlesque Festival 2013 and 2014, Windy City Burlesque Festival of Chicago 2014, headliner at Montreal Burlesque Festival 2015, Show Me Burlesque Festival of St.Louis 2016.

In 2010 she found the Champagne Academy of Burlesque Education, hosted in some of the most famous dancing school in Italy, Switzerland and Mexico.

In 2012 saw the light the Champagne Production, agency for vintage shows and events, that has already brought to stage many theatre shows an dinner shows, and in 2014 the first edition of Como Lake Burlesque Festival that has achieved a great success and now is running the 9th edition.

In her career she boasts prestigious collaborations with important artists all over the world: she is photographed by the international photographer Marco Girolami, portrayed by the American painter Lacey Lewis, win the central page of Pin Up America Magazine, she is a guest on Radio DJ and appears on DeeJay TV, performs with the Italian cantate Ron, she is chosen by the director Andrea Bernard for a burlesque cameo in the opera La Traviata at the Teatro Sociale di Como.
